Melanie Lynskey doesn't have to look far to find her biggest fan.
That's because her husband Jason Ritter couldn't be prouder of her now that her decades-long career is resulting in critically acclaimed performances in shows like The Last of Us and, of course, Yellowjackets.
"It's so satisfying, it's so incredible," Jason exclusively told E! News of his wife's success. "She's just been so wonderful for so long and she never really put a lot of thought process into anything else aside from her work. That was always the most important thing to her."
He continued, "It's amazing to see all of this attention and I hope that new fans of Melanie will go back and watch some of the independent movies and other shows that she's been a part of. She's just been doing incredible work since she was 15."
Since making her debut in 1994's Heavenly Creatures, Melanie, 45, has had memorable turns in But I'm a Cheerleader, Sweet Home Alabama and Two and a Half Men, just to name a few.
Now, she's reuniting with Jason, 43—who also snagged a brief role in her 2022 Hulu miniseries Candy—in season two of Yellowjackets (Although, the actress did just confirm she and her husband didn't actually shoot any scenes together).
"It was so much fun to film, I can say that," the Parenthood alum revealed. "I heard so many stories about some of the crew members that Melanie loves and I only ever met her fellow castmates. So, it was nice to actually be there and meet people, person to person, and go, 'Oh my gosh, Melanie loves you.'"
And Jason admitted that in working on the Showtime thriller, he was excited to finally have some inside scoop. As he put it, "It was a real thrill and, as a fan of the show, it did feel exciting to get to read even just an episode as Melanie won't tell me anything."
One person who won't be checking out Jason's upcoming appearance on Melanie's series? Their 4-year-old daughter. However, that's not to say she isn't at least a little bit familiar with their work—in animation, that is.
"I have shown our daughter some Gravity Falls episodes. She's been a little scared of them, I will say. But she'll deny—she'll say things like, 'I'm very brave of Bill,'" Jason shared of his daughter's reaction to the cartoon villain. "'Yes, you are. You are very brave. I can see that. You're a little scared of him. But also you're still here, you're still in the room. You're not covering your eyes.' And to be honest, I'm very brave of Bill as well. It's a little bit scary."
But is she familiar with her mom's show Over the Garden Wall or her dad's turn in Frozen II?
"I think Over the Garden Wall might be a little too advanced for her at this stage," Jason noted. "But I can't wait to show her that as well. I forced her to watch Frozen II."
And if you can't wait to see more of Jason Ritter, make sure to watch his new episode of Accused now streaming on Hulu and in Yellowjackets season two, premiering March 24 on Showtime.
